let's talk film
Our second movie viewing (based on voting), will be Jaws. Let the discussion begin!|
Hmmm, to be honest I haven't watched it recently, but what I remember is the fake looking shark, and that you had to wait FOREVER for the shark to do something, to the point where I was like : Please eat someone for ....'s sake!! Let's get on with this!
AndI love how a shark had become something like a terrorist threat! hahaha
( I do hope I am talking about the right movie :):) )

It was okay if you are into that sort of thing
For my viewing of Jaws I chose the 30th anniversary edition. This was my second time watching this movie, and I must say I really wasn’t any more impressed with it than I was the first time I saw it. I felt the acting was great, and the directing superb, but I really don’t care for the story it is kind of boring for me simply because I persoanlly do not care for the subject matter.
One thing I did REALLY love though, is this:
On the House M.D. (the TV series) DVD set, at the end of each and every episode, there is a cartoon excerpt where one guy on a beach says to another “that’s some bad hat Harry” I kept thinking I knew it from somewhere and could not figure out where. I kept thinking and thinking about it, and I could not figure out where I knew that from, or what it had to do with anything! Now I know… it is a quote from Jaws!!
I don't understand why you people voted for it if you don't want to discuss it
Maybe people have been busy this week. I hope next week we'll vote for a movie that'll get more participation...
i really enjoy jaws. i think it is a masterfully made film. the acting is dead on with the characters. the writing is taut and the film, overall, is very suspenseful. i watch it every three years or so.
speilberg really did something wioth this film. it caused massive hysteria upon release. thousands of people refused to go to the beach for years after seeing it.
one thing that truly stands out is the soundtrack. the use of sound, the when and where, is a pinacle of the art form.
